Just a week ago when app and messaging lovers woke up to find the striking and shocking news, Whatsapp -one of the world biggest messaging app- has been bought up by facebook in a huge $19 billion deal. This story got the attention of everybody in the technology world, sparking comments from the industry players about the deal. Comments from the layman point of view was also not speared: from twitter to facebook and the rest. However, the issue I want to put across is that what effect has Facebook had on Whatsapp over this short period. Has it improve on it downloads or the otherwise.
A recent post on Mashables indicate that after the acquisition of whatsapp by facebook, messaging lovers are now flocking to telegram -a similar messaging app which offer free subscribes and a secured and privacy improved chat.

This shows a proof of an effect of facebook on whatsapp. Facebook itself as a social network has got it's own fair share of "declinage," where millions of people have now lost interest in it. For me, the question I ask is that; is it that people seem not to love Mark -facebook CEO- again (in the person perspective) or people are fed up with facebook boring interface or perhaps facebook does not offer a more improved technology advancement as we want it.
So we ask, what new is facebook going to offer us or is it going to give as a reason to seek solace in another messaging app. Is whatsapp going to keep up with it's 450m users or increase or decrease and become history.
The story is now yours to continue; Facebook's effect on Whatsapp
